Theunise has experience in pension law and the litigation thereof. She has worked on matters in the Magistrate’s Court, High Court, Supreme Court of Appeal and Constitutional Court. She has been involved in the drafting of all related pleadings. She engages in legal research and provides clients with legal opinions on a range of employee benefit issues including duties and powers of trustees, employment-related issues, division of death benefits, maintenance-related issues and divorce-related issues. She works closely with Johan on various pension law matters, legal research and client consultations. She has a special interest in the division of pension interest at divorce, the distribution of section 37C death benefits and representation of clients before the Pension Funds Adjudicator, and the Financial Services Tribunal. Theunise has also been involved in the training of administrators and trustees of pension funds, with recent focus on POPIA.
